Join us at Australasia’s Premier Educational Event in Non-Surgical Aesthetics

🗓  3-5 June 2022 📍 Gold Coast, Australia

Dear friends of the Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS),

The NSS is an event open to all medical practitioners, nurses and practice staff working in the aesthetic medicine industry.

The Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Board are pleased to be collaborating again with the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists (ASCD) and welcome the endorsement of the meeting from the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM)

Following the hugely successful virtual Non-Surgical Symposium 2.0 Reimagined in 2020, we are looking forward to once again bringing you a truly immersive experience in June, but this time in-person.

The health and safety of our attendees has been and always will be our top priority. As such, we have made the decision to reschedule the much-anticipated 10th Anniversary NSS (again) to the new dates: 3 – 5 June 2022 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC).

With attendee safety front-of-mind, all sessions and social events will be hosted within the GCCEC to limit attendee movements. Sessions will be made available on-demand post-event for those who are impacted by COVID-19.

Our team is working hard to ensure all safety precautions are taken, but to also ensure our attendees experience the flair, surprises, excitement, and overall enjoyable experience our attendees have come to love and expect when attending the Non-Surgical Symposium.

We can’t wait to reconnect the Non-Surgical Symposium community and we look forward to welcoming you to the sunny Gold Coast in June to celebrate 10 years of the NSS and 10 years of Innovation, Education & Patient Safety.

The NSS is fundraising to help people impacted by the floods in Queensland and New South Wales. Communities have been devastated, lives have been lost, and thousands of people have been displaced and left with nothing. Recovery is going to take a long time.

Donations will go to GIVIT’s Storms and Flooding Appeal, and will be used to purchase essential items and services for those affected. 100% of publicly donated money received by GIVIT for the Storms and Flooding Appeal is used to buy exactly what’s needed, when it’s needed. Where possible, GIVIT buys locally to support the economic recovery of impacted regions.

GIVIT is working with the Queensland and New South Wales Governments, as well as support organisations, charities, outreach teams and community groups to identify exactly what’s needed to help people recover.

USA

Alison Telfer

Alison qualified as a nurse from Cambridge at the age of 21 and started her career at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, becoming the youngest ever Sister before leaving to take up a research post in pharmaceuticals. Alison then worked in pharmaceutical marketing.

Missing patient care, Alison re-qualified in aesthetics, gaining her NIP (Nurse Independent Prescriber) before training under some of the UK’s best aesthetic practitioners at the time. But, whist the industry was starting to grow very quickly, it lacked the patient-centred care and the tailor-made treatment experience that Alison strongly felt clients both wanted and deserved.

In 2009 Alison founded The Glasshouse clinic in Clapham, with the aim of providing Harley Street technology and results on a personal, local basis. The Wimbledon clinic opened in April 2018 to meet the ever-increasing demand for the unique ‘boutique clinic’ experience and outstanding nurse-led treatments that The Glasshouse provides.

Whilst ultimately responsible for all aspects of the overall running and development of the business, Alison’s primary focus is on ensuring treatment excellence and outstanding results for all Glasshouse patients, whatever their condition or treatment programme. She is directly involved in most patient consultations, delivering or overseeing the majority of treatments herself, and takes a personal interest in every patient that visits the clinic. She also oversees and delivers the comprehensive Glasshouse staff-training programme, set up to ensure that all team members replicate her high standards of service and patient care.

Today Alison is a highly respected aesthetics nurse who teaches in Harley Street. Alison is regularly asked to talk or lecture on aesthetics and the aesthetics industry more generally, as well as on leadership and women’s roles in business. She is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses and one of only 8 nurses in the UK to be an ambassador for Allergan, a leading manufacturer of injectable treatment products (e.g. Juvederm). Alison and the Glasshouse team are frequently asked to review or to trial products by many leading pharmaceutical and cosmetics suppliers and to provide advice and opinion to national newspapers and magazines.

Alison’s energy and desire to rise to new challenges also extends to much of her life outside work. Married with two children and a cockapoo call Boris, she loves the great outdoors. She has trekked solo across the Sahara and is planning a similar trip to the Arctic! She sails, runs, cycles and loves to go off to Cumbria for a few days hiking on her own when time allows.

Steven Weiner

Steven F. Weiner, MD is a Board Certified, Head, Neck, and Facial Plastic Surgeon. He interned and completed his residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he became an instructor for 2 years. In mid-2005 he “laid down his scalpel” and began concentrating 100% of his efforts in non-invasive and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, creating The Aesthetic Clinique. Dr. Weiner divides his time between his practice, physician trainings, and lectures. He has served on multiple advisory boards, participated in FDA trials, and authored several clinical papers. He is world renown for his filler techniques using cannulas and reJAWvenation ™.  He lectures and trains on ultrasound for evaluating and treating filler complications and safer filer injections.
